Ueli Niederer 2012Dr. Ulrich Niederer, born 1947 in Switzerland, is Chairman of Artico Partners and oversees the business strategy, the product development and the investment activities of the firm. He is also Chairman of the board of EBG Investment Solutions. Following his thesis in theoretical physics at Basel University and years of research Ulrich got involved in the quantitative investment research for former Swiss Bank Corporation as quantitative research analyst in 1986. In 1990 he was appointed Co-head of Institutional Asset Management, later Chief Investment Officer Switzerland and Global Head of Structured Investments as well as Head of the Alternative Investment Management Business (including Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Infrastructure). In 2001 Ulrich was appointed Chairman of UBS Global Asset Management Switzerland. He was a member of the Swiss Stock Exchange’s Index Commission and member of the advisory board of several Swiss Pension Funds, asset managers and venture capitalists.

Philipp Cottier 2012

Dr. Philipp Cottier, born 1967 in Switzerland, is head of equity investments at responsAbility. He is also an active investor in financial services, real estate and natural resources companies in emerging markets and acts as an entrepreneur with seats on the board of directors of several companies. Dr. Cottier is also a dedicated philanthropist, as well as a microfinance and social impact investor. From 1998 to 2008 he built up Harcourt, s FoHFs and commodity products firm in Zurich, together with partners and sold it to Bank Vontobel – the company had assets under management in excess of USD 5.5 bn, a staff of 90 people and 7 offices across the globe. Prior to joining Harcourt, Dr. Cottier was serving as an investment adviser on the investment committees of Swiss Bank Corp’s FoHFs in Hong Kong and New York, and as a hedge fund analyst for SBC Private Banking in Basel. He has diverse international experience, including having worked for the Boston Consulting Group in Sydney, and other firms in Tokyo, Buenos Aires and Vancouver. Dr. Cottier graduated in 1992 from the University of St. Gallen and holds a Masters in Finance & Accounting, a Masters in Political Science and a PhD in Finance.

Thomas Jutzi

Prof. Dr. Thomas Jutzi, born in 1978 in Switzerland, holds the position of professor of economic law since 2017 and director since 2013 at the Institute of Economic Law at the University of Bern. Prior to his assistant professorship at the University of Bern (2012 - 2017), he was engaged as a Senior Specialist for Policy and Regulation at FINMA during the period from 2011 to 2012. After finishing his studies at the University of Bern, Thomas Jutziworked at Pestalozzi LachenalPatry, and was an attorney-at-law at NiedererKraft & Frey from 2008 until 2012 – both law firms located in Zürich. In 2010, he was awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley, USA. In 2008, he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bern.
